January Weekend Zazenkai

Please join us for Weekend Zazenkai. This is a great oppotunity to immerce yourself deep into Zazen practice for concentrated time on the weekend. The retreat begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19. Please arrive at the center by 5:00 p.m. and settle if you're staying. There will be an orientation for all participants

Special Sunday Program

A special Sunday program where Jiun Varant Arslanian Zenji will introduce the community to several of his Dharma friends from Japan: Sasaki Hōkaku, abbot of Gyokuryūji, Tatsuyama Daiyū, abbot of Yūsenji and Ichimura Kōbin, former monk and now lay practitioner.

As Buddhism developed, sutra copying became an important ascetic practice. More than its religious intent, we can practice it to relax your mind, improve concentration and mental well-being by mindfully tracing the sutras.
